Here at Penhaligon’s, we’re proud to be a British brand that still manufactures in the UK! So when we got the chance to go and watch our fragrances being produced in Hampshire we jumped at the chance. On this particular day the scent of our classic citrus scent Blenheim Bouquet filled the air!
Almost the entire process is done by hand, not a robot in sight! First the sterilised bottles are filled using this brilliant contraption, which we can perfectly imagine in the laboratory of a mad Victorian scientist! Look at all that lovely Blenheim Bouquet, enough to keep a whole troop of gents beautifully scented.
Then another interesting looking device ensures the pump and tube are sealed nice and tightly (we wouldn’t want any of that precious juice to leak!) before the little bottles make their way along the line to be dressed!
These speed at which the labels and bows are hand-applied is quite astonishing, they were going at such a lick that we could hardly capture it on camera.
Finally the complete bottles are nestled into their lovely boxes, then wrapped and packed for delivery to our stores all over the world!
We imagine everyone went home that day smelling everso slightly of this great classic, which is no bad thing! Did you know that after 110 years Blenheim Bouquet still remains our bestselling fragrance globally?
How important is it to you that the products you buy are made in the UK?

Ah, Blenheim Bouquet; how I would love to smell it.
Sadly, the little bottle I bought from you has the stopper wedged in so tightly that neither I nor the godson I bought it for can open the bottle.
Any advice please on how to prise it open without damaging it?
Thanks
Hi Lisa,
We’re sorry to hear you’ve been having some issues opening your bottle. I have spoken with our customer service team who advise all customers to place the bottle in the fridge for 48 hours and then try opening it. This should ease the difficulty you’ve been having opening it. If this doesn’t work then please contact our customer service team directly at byrequest@penhaligons.com
Thanks for the article, very interesting read.
sorry should say have BEEN a Penhaligon´s girl
thank you for sharing – I am not from / living in the UK but have a Penhaligon´s girl for years now and hubby just had to foloow in my footsteps so is now a fan of Endymion – great to be able to see this, and yes we do like the fact that the products are made in the UK, it makes it genuine and you can not beat the quality that we still have in our old part of the world
Thanks for this window into the world of Penhaligon’s!
Our pleasure Nicholas!
